Cannabis doesn’t really have an expiry date, but a number of factors can change that. Here are some tried-and-true methods for spotting Cannabis that’s “off”.
Aromas

If the smell isn’t vibrant and doesn’t hit you right away, odds are something’s off. Terpenes are delicate so if they’ve been handled too much, you’ll lose the strain’s original aromas. A signal for mould – mildew or musty scents.

Sight and Feel

Cannabis that’s past its prime will easily break apart into a fine powder with little to no effort. The overall look should be vibrant with visible trichomes. A fine white film or powder usually means there are signs of mould.

Still wondering if it’s good? Touch it. Is there a lot of (or too little) moisture? Is it too brittle? Does It break apart in your fingers? If so, odds are you should pass.
